Mopar Muscle: Powered By BluePrint Engines

Mopar Muscle: Powered By BluePrint Engines

Ah, there’s nothing quite like some classic, Mopar muscle!

We were sent a photo of this sleek, white Mopar A-Body that is powered by one of our 408 Chrysler Strokers.

We asked on our Facebook page if any of our fans could guess the year of the car just based off of the photos – do you know the answer? (If you do, be sure to tell us in the comments!)

Mopar is a portmanteau of the words "MOtor" and "PARts" that has been an organization within Fiat Chrysler Automobiles since 1937. It has been inclusive for Chrysler-built vehicles like Dodge, Plymouth, Imperial, or DeSoto.

The baddest on and off the track, Mopar is no stranger to racing. They sponsored the #30 car of Jimmy Hensley in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 1996 and from 2004 to 2007 Mopar sponsored the #9 car driven by Kasey Kahne in the Sprint Cup Series for the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Questions about which one of our strokers would work best for your ride? Shoot us an email at info@blueprintengines.com or call us at 1-800-483-4263. Remember that BluePrint Engines has the industry's best-in-class warranty for 30 months or 50,000 miles and applies to individual or professional installations.

An American Pop Culture Classic: The Dodge A100

The Dodge A100 is a range of American compact vans and trucks manufactured and marketed from 1964 to 1970 by the Chrysler Corporation under the Dodge marque

The A108 was popular with camper conversion companies. A substantially modified, Hemi-powered A100 wheelstanding exhibition pickup called the "Little Red Wagon" driven by Bill "Maverick" Golden was a popular drag strip attraction in the 1960s through the early 2000s.

The Dodge A100 was also a prominent car featured in American television shows.

The A100 appeared in “That '70s Show” episode "Red's Last Day," as Michael Kelso's new van.

It appeared in the animated Disney movie “Cars” as the character Dusty Rust-Eze and in the remake of the horror film, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” In the 1960s Batman television series, the A100 appeared in a spectrum of colors and was the preferred getaway car of each episode’s villain!

An A100 appeared in many different colors in the 1960s Batman TV series. More often than not, it was the preferred getaway vehicle of each episode's villain!

Off of the television screen, the A100 has been a popular vehicle for camping, as an emergency vehicle, and even as a race car.

This Mopar A100 vans runs 7.80's and can reach speeds of up to 90 miles per hour! It’s run by our BluePrint Engines Mopar 408 short block and is one sweet ride.

Mopar Muscle: The Baddest On and Off the Track

Mopar Muscle: The Baddest On and Off the Track

There’s nothing quite like seeing (or driving!) a Mopar muscle car.

Mopar is the parts, service and customer care organization within Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The name is a portmanteau of the words "MOtor" and "PARts."

The term was first used by Chrysler in the 1920s and was introduced as a brand starting in 1937. The name “Mopar”  was originally created by a committee to use on cans of "Chrysler Motor Parts" antifreeze.

The term has thus become an inclusive word for any Chrysler-built vehicle—most any Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, Imperial, DeSoto, or Dodge or Ram truck.

In Canada, Chrysler parts were sold under the Chryco and AutoPar brands until the Mopar brand was phased into that nation's market, starting in the late 1970s.

During its 80 years in production, Mopar has sponsored a number of racers in a variety of motorsports series.

In 1996, Mopar sponsored the #30 car of Jimmy Hensley in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. From 2004 to 2007 Mopar sponsored the #9 car driven by Kasey Kahne in the Sprint Cup Series for the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

In the United States and Canada, Mopar also sponsors Formula D racing. Mopar had sponsored NHRA drag racer Allen Johnson in that series' Pro Stock division for 20 years, but during 2016 season they sponsored Jegs Coughlin Jr. and Erica Enders-Stevens.

Mopar sponsors the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals held each July in Denver, which is the longest-running sponsorship in all of drag racing.

This candy apple-green Mopar muscle car is run by our Mopar 408 stroker! We love receiving customer photos – be sure to keep submitting them on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest by tagging #BluePrintEngines. You can submit your photos and car stories via email to info@blueprintengines.com too!
