Some dealerships will charge anywhere from $75 to $100 an hour. Home mechanics may charge less. How do you know how much money a job should take? Rely on fellow auto enthusiasts, blogs, and message boards to get a good idea before you scope out mechanics if you aren’t doing the job yourself.
Know How Much Time it Should Take

Be honest with yourself and know that there’s a lifespan for everything. An old part could very easily cost more to fix than it's worth.
